Dinosaurs are loose on the streets. Rethink and Science World have teamed up to bring the dinosaurs back to life with a series of three prehistoric-style cars that will be driving around the Lower Mainland promoting the new Extreme Dinosaurs exhibit.
The T-Rex has left his damage especially on one of the cars, T-Wrecked, taking a massive chunk out of it’s back half. A sign on top reads: T-Rex chomped with 6000 lbs of pressure. Keep your eyes peeled as it’s not the only dino-car that will be making its way through Vancouver’s streets and be sure to ask them for a free child’s pass for Extreme Dinosaurs in Science World at TELUS World of Science.
“The cars are definitely going to catch people’s attention as they drive by, says Nicolas Quintal, Creative Director at Rethink. “It’s not easy making things come alive that have been extinct for 65 million years, but we like a creative challenge.”
Rethink and Science World have worked together for over 10 years. The cars are part of Rethink’s ongoing “We Can Explain” campaign for Science World. Previously for the campaign, Rethink has created a dazzling 22-karat gold billboard, a sneezing billboard and an event that let people walk on water.
“We’re always amazed by the creativity at Rethink,“ says Suan Teo, director of marketing at Science World. “When we were presented with the idea of the dino-cars, we loved it right away, and as we see now, we know the T-Rex isn’t to be messed with.”
Presented by BMO, Extreme Dinosaurs is created by Vancouver-based Dinosaurs Unearthed and Science World British Columbia. It features 19 life-size animatronic dinosaurs and two fullscale articulated skeletons along with 12 fossils and a range of interactive activities.
The cars were created by True Colours and took over a month to make. After tomorrow’s events, the cars will frequently be out at Science World events before the Extreme Dinosaurs exhibit ends in April 2012.
