Rail ProjectCollections

For this exhibit, Rethinkers brought in or photographed something they collect. At night all the collections come alive and have a parade through the office, and in the morning there are hats in tupperware containers and wine bottles filled with Mexican figurines.

If you want to share your collection on our site, just send a nice JPG or GIF and a short description to exhib..@rethinkcanada.com. Unless it's a nice JPG of your "adult" collection. Those, we're less interested in.

Film cartridges

Film cartridges

I collect a lot of things. Film cartridges is one of them. I studied photography for a number of years, and a lot of these empty containers are reminders of images I’ve shot. I’m still amazed by the process of film and how memories were once stored in these unassuming little cases. Every time you developed a roll of film you were surprised— either disappointed or ecstatic over the outcome. There was always a risk involved, which has disappeared since digital cameras came along. I miss opening the print envelope with anticipation, hoping to hell you “didn’t fuck it up.”
