Contrary to popular belief, Alberta's Libraries are modern resource facilities with a lot more than just books. They also have CDs, DVDs, Internet access and workshops.

In 2008 they launched an education campaign around the tagline “Books and Beyond.” In the second year of the campaign, it appeared the librarians were determined to get the point across–– stamping people’s faces with a variety of messages.

The Alberta Library, created in 1997, is a collaboration of over 290 public, university, college, technical institute and special libraries throughout the province committed to barrier-free access to information, ideas and culture.
